Prior to the regular meeting of the Montebello Pet Club the following events were held.

7:00-7:30  Social time for Pet Club Members and Board Member Candidates.

7:30-8:55  Platform presented by each board member candidate followed by questions and answers.  The following candidates were present:  Carole Harman, Doug Kennett, Desiree Linson, Chris Low, Terry Myron, Wesley Palmer, Walter Peterson, Guido Zanni.

Susan Morris read a letter sent by candidate F. G. Nick Nickerson who could not be present for the meeting.

The question was raised about what percentage of condo owners have pets and Doug Kennett, President of the Board, reported approximately 22% of residents have pets.

The regular meeting of the Montebello Pet Club was called to order April 18, 2006 at 8:55 PM with Susan Morris presiding as Acting President.

There were approximately 21 members present at the meeting.

Susan Morris reported on the farewell reception for Joe and Rona.  They enjoyed the farewell dinner at the Green Olive as well as the reception held at the Community Center.  Susan and Tommy’s son made a DVD to give them with photos from pet club activities.  They were also presented with a book and photo album.  Doug Kennett presented a plaque from the Montebello Community.

Upcoming events:

                The next Dinner Out will be Sunday, April 30 at 12 noon at the Chart House Restaurant in Old Town.  Brunch Buffet is $13.99.

                The Holiday Bazaar will be November 4, 2006.  Three tables have been reserved so far.

                Elections need to be held to fill the positions of President and Secretary.  Sarah Halpert and Addie Krizek volunteered to serve on the nominating committee and will contact all the members before the next meeting.  The Nominating Committee will present the nominees at the May meeting and the voting will take place at the June meeting.

                Future Pet Club meetings will be the fourth Monday of the month in party room 4.   The next meeting will be May 22, 2006 in party room 4. 

                The by-laws need to be updated and changed.  Susan Morris and Gladys Seisler will serve on the by-laws committee and present a draft of changes to be discussed at the May meeting.

                Carl Goldberg continues to help update the club website.

                Carl Goldberg’s next TV show is on May 14 at 10 PM on Channel 10.

                The Pet Club declined participation in this year’s Earth Day activities at Montebello.
